Black Nurse Network History

Registered Nurse & Pittsburgh Native, Kylie Stores is the Creator and Founder of ‘Black Nurse Network Pittsburgh Inc.’ and the 'Black Nurse Brunch.' After completing a Bachelor’s and Master’s at Carlow University School of Nursing, she has dedicated her life to reaching those in need young and old. She moves beyond the walls of the hospital serving as a motivational speaker, a former traveling nurse, published author, and has even relocated to Chicago to begin a new career working for a nonprofit dedicated to mentoring the youth in the city! Nursing, however, has remained a passion for Kylie hence her commitment to the growing Nurses Brunch. After reflecting on the lack of black and brown representation she felt as a Pediatric Nurse in Pittsburgh, she had a dream to pull everyone together; and Black Nurse Brunch Pittsburgh was officially born! She hosted the 1st brunch in 2018 with 12 participants, and to date has reached over 120 nurses in the 6-year span of the brunch!

After much hard work, in April 2022, the organization was solidified as a 501c3 non-profit with a focus in the areas of education, service, and networking. Please continue to support the brunch, and pray for Kylie as she continues this journey to see change in the healthcare community in Pittsburgh. On behalf of Kylie and the Board, they are honored to have your support.
